Rebecca Doeden is a designer and artist living in Overland Park, Kansas. She currently works for Crate & Barrel in Furniture Sales helping people find the best design solutions for their homes. She is also an independent contract designer and artist guiding clients' space planning and bringing in new textures and bright concepts. Typically dressed in layered patterns, with an ever-changing hairstyle, Rebecca is passionate about the creative process and eternally curious about the science behind peoples' needs and desires. "My design philosophy is simple: Art should not just be relegated to walls or thought of purely as an object. I believe people should surround themselves with art - wear it, sit in it, and be able to engage with it. In the same way, I believe great design serves a purpose and has a function. Great design endures. It lifts your spirit and makes you feel better."
Rebecca is also a culinary expert delving into all things food and culture related, whether it be wedding cake creation, Paleo lifestyle, or the ease of the newest kitchen gadget. With a very long history in the food industry including managing coffee shops and running a full-scale bakery, Rebecca can often be found as the host for parties, the caterer of events, and has a strong desire to make regular trips to new places gaining new insights into other cultures and experiences.
